
Kensington Community League Hall Rental Requirements
Liability Insurance
All renters are required to purchase third-party liability insurance to protect both the event host(s) and the Kensington Community League in the event of damage, injury, or death. The insurance must meet the following criteria:
- Coverage must be a minimum of $2,000,000 in Comprehensive General Liability Insurance.
- The Kensington Community League must be listed as an additional insured on the policy.
- The policy must cover each day of the rental period.
- If alcohol is being served, host liquor liability coverage (third-party liquor liability insurance) must be included.
- This insurance is required in addition to a valid liquor license.
Event insurance can be obtained through your own provider or through the following brokers:
- Duuo Insurance
- PAL Insurance Brokers
- NFP Insurance
- Foster Park Brokers
- AMA Events Liability Insurance
- Brokerlink Event Insurance
Proof of insurance must be provided before the event date.
Liquor License
If alcohol is being served, renters must obtain a liquor license from the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission (AGLC). The license must be displayed at the bar throughout the event.
- To apply for a liquor license, visit the AGLC website.
- Renters serving alcohol must be over the age of 25.
- We recommend that all servers used for bar service be Pro-Serve trained through the AGLC.
Age Requirement & Identification
- All renters must be at least 21 years of age.
- Renters serving alcohol must be at least 25 years of age.
- A valid government-issued photo ID is required for all rentals.
Third-Party Vendors & Contractors
Any third-party vendors providing services at the event, including but not limited to caterers, decorators, DJs, and photo booth companies, must provide proof of their own liability insurance. The coverage must meet the same $2,000,000 liability requirement and name Kensington Community League as an additional insured.

By renting the Kensington Community League Hall, you agree to comply with all rental requirements, including providing necessary insurance and permits. Failure to provide required documents may result in cancellation of the rental without a refund.

Kensington Community League (or their agent, the hall coordinator) reserves the right to approve or deny hall rental requests at their discretion.
